Creating Art & Science Collaborations – or how to Shape the Knowledge for the Future
Irène Hediger, Head of the artists-in-labs program
Description: Irène Hediger, head of the artists-in-labs program, will share insights on the processes and (unexpected) outcomes of the program collaborations between artists and scientists.
Since 2003, the artists-in-labs program (ail) has been facilitating artistic research by way of long-term residencies for artists in scientific laboratories and research institutes. The ail is part of the Department of Cultural Analysis at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) and promotes sustainable collaboration between artists and scientists of all disciplines, not just in Switzerland but all around the world. These long-term interdisciplinary and cross-border collaborations provide artists and scientists with an opportunity to critically engage with each other and their fields of experimental and aesthetic dimensions.
