The machineshop "Mechanical Design & Production" (MDP) of the ARTORG Center for Biomedical Engineering Research, University of Bern, invites interested researchers to meet the team and the production process on site on 23 September 2020.
MDP designs and manufactures complex mechanical components and devices for biomedical research and clinical translation. The machineshop has been equipped with two new Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) machines and is now accredited as an official interdisciplinary SISF research platform on sitem-insel. It is open to all researchers from the University of Berne, the Insel Gruppe and sitem-insel who wish to implement medical technology projects and who require advice in conception and development as well as know-how in prototyping and production.
Details about the open afternoon of the machineshop can be found in the flyer. Due to COVID-19, four different visitor slots are offered between 16.30 and 18.30 hrs. Visitors are asked to register for one of these slots by September 18th via the following link:
There is a protection concept for the approved event with compulsory wearing of masks (minimum distance in front of the machines not possible).
